Austin Drabek, PA-C
Austin is a board-certified physician assistant from Jacksonville, FL who believes every patient is unique, and therefore deserves individualized care that caters to their specific needs. He is a strong advocate for holistic management of mental health and firmly stands on the principle that every person can achieve happiness, stability, and meaning out of their life through different combinations of various psychotherapeutic modalities. Austin’s approach to mental health is to treat the person, not the diagnosis, which includes (but is not limited to) paying special attention to cultural beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, race, ethnicity, and core values. Every patient deserves to feel understood and heard, and Austin strives to give his patients the safest of spaces to advocate for themselves.
Austin earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Florida in Gainesville, FL and his master’s degree from South University in Richmond, VA. Interventional treatments offered at Curated are of special interest to Austin, and upcoming approval of new treatments for various conditions gives him hope that the current state of psychiatry is in a direction toward a better future. Outside of psychiatry, dancing at concerts, cheering at college football games, and diving in the freshwater springs of Florida are a few of his many passions.
